Highlands Course

- The Highlands Course is a Par 72 and went through a complete renovated by Rees Jones in the Spring of 2016. Rees Jones's renovation included additional forward tees, and reposting of select tees, regressing of fairways, tees, and rough, evaluating bunkers which included the rebelling and removal of select bunkers and replacement of bunker sand, and rebuilding #14 green to increase the number of hole locations. The course has hosted the 1976 U.S. Open, 1981, 2001, 2011 PGA Championship, 2014 U.S. Amateur, and 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup.

- The greens are USGA specs with TifEagle Bermudagrass, and are walk mowed. The collars and approaches are TifGand Bermudagrass. Highlands collars are cut with walk mowers, while the approaches are cut with a triplexs.

- Tees' surfaces are Zorro Zoysia and are walk mowed.


- Also, fairways and intermediate cut surfaces are covered with Zorro Zoysia. The fairways are mowed with a 5 reel fairway units and the intermediate is cut with a reel sidewinder.

- The rough consists of 419 Bermudagrass and is mowed with a 5 deck rotary unit.

- Highlands' bunkers have Billy Bunker drainage system with Sandtrapper Bunker Liner, and has Pro/Angle bunker sand.  The sand is manufactured in Northeast Ohio through a specialized process that fractures silica quartz pebbles into angular particles creating the most playable, weather resistant bunker sand on the market

- The course has Rain Bird Corporation irrigation heads and their IC (Individual Control) Technology. This system provide the most efficent use of our most valuable resource, water.
Which allows us to provide firm and fast conditions daily.

- Also, the Highlands Course's staff is responsible for maintaining the 9 hole, Par 27, Par 3 Course. The course features small greens and holes from 75 to 125 yards. It was constructed in 1994 with Champion Bermudagrass greens and tees, fairways and rough are Tifway 419.
